my (hopefully) breif stint as a pizza babe

been waitressing at a small Italian restaurant around the corner from my house.

It is always empty which means no tips :(, I made $4 in tips today.

The manager though better then Marty is pretty terrible.

He is nice enough but too touch-y. In that he touches me more than I want him to. I don’t want him to touch me at all. I am trying to work up the courage to say something to him about it but I suck at confrontation and like I shouldn’t have to deal with this bullshit.

He gave me free food the other day and he never gives anyone free food. He is always tryin to give me a ride home. I gotta quit this shit.

Hopefully my interviews tomorrow go well at this place http://www.thebostonshaker.com/ or less enthusiastically this place http://www.divabistro.com/

How one feels when reading “The Smooth and the Striated” By Gilles Deleuze

4 more pages until no more pages for a long time.

Something I have been thinking about a lot recently. Our generation totally missed the aids crisis. Aids activism used to be a big thing right up until the mid 1990’s now its totally gone and pretty big organizations like ACT UP don’t ring any bells even for my ‘activist’ friends.
It has started to freak me out that most people I know, know about this important era of American history through a Broadway musical.
Though maybe it just seems like a bigger deal to me since I have been looking at a lot of art from the 80’s and 90’s.  See image above.
Two things that made me think about this:
Last semester in class my Professor taught an American Art class without slides for day without art. And all it did at the time was reaffirm how much this dude was stuck in the late 1980’s/ early 1990’s (this plus him listening to Big Black).
At a training for giving tours of the Rose Art Museum, this teacher gave as an example of when you don’t use information you lose it- I used to know a lot about chemistry and biology when all my friends had aids, but then they all died and doctors found a cocktail of medicine that kept people alive for a long time so by 1995 I didn’t know science anymore

Sometimes writing a paper involves googling your name and then stalking the person who has the same name as you and laughing about how different that person is from you. I present Emily Leifer.
